The first Cotton Spinning Mill in Johnstone was feued to Corse, Wilson, Burns and King in 1782.
The mill closed in 1896 but didn't stay empty for too long.

The Old Mill was the oldest surviving cotton mill in Scotland until it was destroyed by fire in 2010.
