The museum is operated by the Johnstone History Society, which holds regular meetings monthly September to May at the Masonic Halls in Collier Street.

Monthly meetings feature talks by local and international experts on a variety of topics. The museum has artifacts, documents and images from Johnstone and environs. Membership in the Society is separate from website registration.
