The Museum is open to the public on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10.30 a.m. till 4 p.m. The Museum can also be opened to accommodate School and local interest groups at other times by arrangement.

In 2008, Morrisons agreed to incorporate into their plan for a new store in Johnstone, an extension to house a Community Museum. With the help of a Lottery Grant, Johnstone History Society agreed to set up and run the Museum.
